The Road Safety Partnership (RSP) is supporting all motorcycle users this year by providing another round of the successful workshops for all riders.
First starting in 2014, Biker-Down workshops are a free session in which people can learn basic first aid courses for riders and what to do in an accident if they are ever involved in one.
The workshops are free and take place on Friday evenings, 6pm-9pm, at SkillZONE, Tuffley Lane, Tuffley, Gloucester GL4 0DT.
The first session took place in June and was fully booked, but the RSP wants to remind people that they can book for future events now. They take place on: 15th July, 23rd September, 21st October, 18th November and 9th December 2016. People can book by emailing
Cllr Nigel Moor, cabinet member for fire, planning and infrastructure, said: “Last year we had a really good turn out of motorbike users attending these events, and this year we are hoping to provide these workshops to even more people.
“Providing riders with basic first aid and what to do if an accident happens is really important because it could potentially save a life.”
Martin Surl, Police and Crime Commissioner, said: “I recommend these workshops to all motorbike users. As our roads become busier, bikers become more vulnerable so any initiative aimed at keeping them safe is both timely and welcome.”
