Police are appealing for the good Samaritan who helped a vulnerable man in Churchdown.

At around 11.20pm on Saturday 23 July, concerns were raised for a man’s welfare who was stood on the wrong side of the bridge on Parton Road over the A40. Officers attended immediately and closed the road.

The man, in his 20s, was brought to safety by police and was not harmed during the incident. He was taken to Wotton Lawn Hospital.

Before police arrived, a member of the public stayed with the man, spoke with him and held his arm to stop him from falling. He left the scene before police could speak to him. Officers are asking him to get in touch so they can personally thank him for his help. His actions helped to save the man’s life.

The good Samaritan is asked to call PC 693 Newman on 101 quoting incident 570 of 23 July.
