Essential improvements for Valiant Way in Brockworth by Kate | Gloucester News Centre - http://gloucesternewscentre.co.uk/Gloucestershire County Council is undergoing essential work next week to Valiant Way in Brockworth to resurface the road and installing bollards to stop lorries from parking on the roadside.
The work will also include additional maintenance, including repairing lampposts, signs and barrier lights, which have been knocked by lorries parking in the area.
The resurfacing of the Valiant Way and roundabout connecting to Delta Way will take place from Saturday 8th October to Friday 14th October. The road will be fully closed for the seven days and nights so that the work can take place quickly.
The roundabout connecting Valiant Way with Delta Way will be closed for the first two days of the work (Saturday and Sunday), but will be reopened Monday to reduce disruption to businesses during the week.
Diversions have been advertised ahead of the work with signs since the 27th September, and local companies have been made aware.
Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flooding, said: “I am very happy to announce that such an important road is having improvements done to it.
“The road is an essential link for Gloucester and the business park, and I would like to thank all businesses for their patience whilst we make these improvements.”
Cllr Robert Vines, county councillor for Brockworth, said: “It is good to see the work going ahead and I know that it will benefit our local economy with such an important road being improved.”
