Revamped outdoor Gloucester bar, Pilgrims Yard is promising to put the city’s night-life on the map during a year of partying!
Huge acts including Ibiza DJ Dave Pearce, Artful Dodger and N-Trance are already booked for an impressive line-up expected to attract people from outside the city. Other events planned include, this weekend’s free opening night with the Maxwell Street blues band on Friday 15th April and the first Pilgrims club night on Saturday 16th April.
Pilgrims Yard, previously the Outdoor Inn, is part of the Fleece Hotel development by the Dowdeswell group. It is the first stage of the development and is now an outdoor live events and music venue which is promising a festival marquee vibe.
Pilgrims Yard manager, Jay Alder said, ‘We aim to bring a really varied offering that appeals to everyone at some point. We have Blues one weekend and then an Ibiza DJ the next. We’re also having a Northern Soul night and A Tribute to Knebworth event. It will be a place that people will want to come to Gloucester for.’
Along with live music, you’ll be able to enjoy Battledown Brewery beers on-tap, spirit mixers and cocktails from the venue’s bar – housed in a old bus. Pilgrims Yard will also have local pop-up food vendors such as Bella Pizza.
Jay said, ‘There’s huge potential in Gloucester and I see momentum going in right direction with a good cultural uprising. With things like the Food Dock helping to connect the city, we all hope to create a broader offering.’
Preparatory work has begun on the interior of The Fleece – a 15th century timber-framed listed building. Pilgrims Yard, named after the real pilgrims who once visited the inn, is housed on the hotel’s former carpark
