Find a new career at the Friendship Cafe

Gloucestershire County Council’s Adult Social Care recruitment team is attending the Community Open Day at the Friendship Cafe in Gloucester on Saturday 11 March.

The recruitment team will be at the event to showcase the huge variety of career opportunities available across Adult Social Care.

The event takes place from 10am until 3pm at the Friendship Cafe (Chequers Bridge Centre, Painswick Road, GL4 6PR). It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the roles and training opportunities available at the council.

Council colleagues will be on hand to chat to the community about the difference they make every day, helping to support local people of all ages with care and support needs.

Adult social care covers a wide range of activities to help people who are older or living with disability, to live independently and stay safe and well. It can include ‘personal care’ such as support for washing, dressing and getting out of bed in the morning, together with wider support to help people stay active and engaged in their communities. Support is provided in their own home, at day centres, or in nursing and care homes.

Reablement services help people to regain independence; providing aids and adaptations for their home alongside information and advice, as well as support for family carers.

There will be representatives attending from several teams who are keen to share what their team does and how you could become part of it, including:

• Learning Disability and Enablement
• Hospital Discharge and Assessment Team
• Safeguarding and Practice Development
• Day Centres
• Contact Centre
• Home First and Reablement
• Apprenticeships and Adult Education
• Proud to Care.
