Over 125 planters of various types, containing thousands of plants were added to brighten up the city last week.
For the last 5 years, Gloucester Business Improvement District (BID) has arranged for city streets to be adorned with beautiful blooms and this year has been no exception!
The project has seen over 125 planters of various types, including hanging baskets, multi-tiered, boxed and barrier planters around the city, which contain over a thousand plants and shrubs.
You’ll see them in all four gated streets (from the cross, all the way to the ends of the streets), The Docks, Quay Street, The Transport Hub and Worcester Street.
This is a project that Gloucester BID has been organising for a number of years and which sees the City of Gloucester brightened up with blooms for four months over the summer.
Emily Gibbon, Business Manager at Gloucester BID says “We love bringing vibrant colours and nature to Gloucester. Brightening up the streets to make them more attractive to both residents and visitors. We have so many wonderful places to visit, shop and eat in our city, making it a more attractive place to come and visit is important to the local economy.”
With many big events taking place this summer, including Hi! Street Fest, Three Choirs and Rhythm & Blues Festivals, the city will be bustling with activity and now blooming too!
