The new Gloucester Americana Festival will commence this weekend, with over a dozen gigs to choose from, across several city centre venues.
Starting this Friday at 4pm until 8pm on Sunday, the newest music festival to come to Gloucester will kick off with Dave Luke & Chuck Micallef at The Pelican Inn, and will see a multitude of gigs taking to the stage at various venues, including Café René, The Drunken Duck, The Pelican Inn, The Turks Head and Warehouse 4.
Michael Hall, Manager at The Pelican Inn, says “We’re really pleased to be involved in this wonderful new music festival in Gloucester and proud to be hosting the opening gig”.
Toby Wooldridge, Projects Manager at Gloucester Business Improvement District, who is organising this event, says; “Bringing a new and exciting music festival to Gloucester will open the city to a much wider audience. Gloucester is already well known for being host to many well-attended (and loved) festivals, including Gloucester Goes Retro, The Tall Ships, Rhythm & Blues, History Festival, that another festival will only add to the vast array of likes and tastes.”
“Gloucester has so much to offer, with many developments underway. We wanted to create a new Americana Festival to enhance our wonderful city and invite locals and visitors alike to come and listen to the array of gigs taking place over the three days.”
The gigs are free to attend, but tickets may be needed for smaller venues.
