Gloucester Business Improvement District is supporting the National Business Crime Centre’s ‘Safer Business Action Week’, which is taking place between 16th-21st October this year.
In partnership with Gloucester City Safe, we will be focussing on raising the awareness of the ShopKind campaign, which aims to:
- Encourage positive behaviours in shops
- Acknowledge the important role of shopworkers
- Highlight the scale and impact of violence and abuse against shopworkers
We are encouraging businesses trading in Gloucester city centre and Gloucester Docks to get involved and display the ShopKind messaging in their stores and on their socials.
Emily Gibbon, Business Manager at Gloucester Business Improvement District (BID) said, “We are encouraging all businesses to get behind the national week of action to share messages with their customers and colleagues about ShopKind. People need to remember that the staff behind the counters are human too, please be kind.”
Steve Lindsay, Gloucester City Safe Manager, said: “We are seeing a slight increase in shop staff who are subject to abuse and violence which will not be tolerated in our city, and we completely support the ShopKind message and acknowledge the need to make sure these offenders who abuse shop staff are dealt with robustly”.
We will be sharing stories and highlighting issues throughout the week using #SaBaWeekGloucester. Do follow us and support our week-long campaign to ShopKind in Gloucester.
