Gloucester welcomes the Anti-Violence Bee Monument
The Anti-Violence Bee Monument is brought to Gloucester by a number of organisations and partnerships, seeking to raise awareness on violent and aggressive behaviour issues.
The Bee of Peace
As the first UK sculpture to be made entirely of firearms, this Bee Monument is a dedicated monument for the UK’s second largest city, Greater Manchester, to become a catalyst for an area-specific anti-violence programme.
In collaboration with the Greater Manchester Police (GMP), The British Ironworks Centre have created an anti-violence monument to highlight the city’s stance against all forms of violence.
Our need to suppress violence is a continual effort that requires a continual focus. The piece that we created for Manchester will be their first and only anti-violence monument created from recovered weapons, so it will be entirely unique.
WHAT IS THE PLAN?
It’s here in Gloucester to engage discussions on violent and aggressive behaviour, and as a beautiful memorial for the lives lost to weapon’s crime.

The Knife Angel Legacy fund in conjunction with Crimestoppers has arranged for the Bee to be displayed in three locations in Gloucester on the 16th-18th February 2024 and supporting partner organisations will be community engagement providing cultural activities, education and training, to businesses and public, aimed at giving a better understanding to all, of the Bee’s message. Information about the Bee Fearless programme is available on our website. Whilst the Bee Monument is here, local organisations can be found next to the Bee between 10am and 4pm. Visitors can come and have a chat to gain more insight about the important work they do for the community.
