The application window for discretionary grants from those businesses identified in the government guidance as most impacted by the Omicron variant is now open and will close at midnight on 20 February 2022. This does include those businesses who do not receive a business rates bill. Businesses must confirm that they are eligible to receive a grant and that they were trading on 30 December 2021.
Eligible businesses: businesses who have not already received an omicron business grant and can demonstrate reduced trading as a result of the omicron variant, as outlined in the government guidance, who have fixed costs attributable to the business* and meet the following eligible categories:
- Hospitality
- Accommodation
- Leisure
- Personal care
- Travel and tourism sector, including group travel, travel agents and tour operators
- Coach operators
- Wedding industries
- Nightclubs
- Theatres
- Events industries
- Breweries
- Freelance and mobile businesses (including caterers, events, hair, beauty and wedding related businesses)
- Gyms
- Supply chain to hospitality, leisure and tourism
Eligible businesses will be awarded a one-off payment based on the number of successful applications received. Different levels of payment will be made based upon property or business size.

The application window to apply for this grant will close at midnight on 20 February 2022. No grant payments will be made until after the application window closes and all of the applications are processed. We do not anticipate making any grant payments for this scheme until at least week commencing 28 February 2022.
