Whitefriars is set to become the city’s most exciting residential address with the release of The Forum’s first 19 apartments on the market.

Designed to the highest design and energy performance standards, the development features a beautiful rooftop garden for residents with stunning views of Gloucester Cathedral.

A collection of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, Whitefriars is the residential offering of Gloucester’s transformational The Forum development, which is being brought forward by Gloucester City Council in partnership with developer Reef Group. A total of 43 apartments at Whitefriars will be delivered over the next 24 months.

In addition to being spacious, architect-designed homes finished to luxury specifications, the apartments have a full range of amenities on their doorstep including a gym, shops, and cafes. Potentially, residents could also work in the Grade A office space that The Forum will deliver, while Gloucester’s key public transport links, the bus and train stations, are both just a short stroll away.

Esther Croft, Development Director at Reef, comments: “Whitefriars offers all the benefits of city centre living from the comfort of beautifully designed homes that fully exploit their exceptional location, including unparalleled views of the city and surrounding countryside.

“As an integral part of The Forum, these homes offer a truly sustainable living option with most of a person’s essential needs met within walking distance, helping to reduce residents’ impact on the environment.

“The apartments are designed to a high standard of energy performance, which is becoming an ever-important consideration as energy prices continue to rise. It’s a truly exciting development, built to superb build quality by local firm E G Carter & Co Ltd., which we are thrilled to launch.”

Councillor Richard Cook, Leader of Gloucester City Council, comments: “The Forum is set to be one of the UK’s first truly integrated digital communities, with the space and infrastructure to create a seamless link between city centre living and working. Whitefriars is key to creating a sense of place and encouraging a sense of community in the local area.”

Whitefriars’ interior design specification includes stylish handle-less kitchens with Neff & Bosch appliances as well as luxurious, tiled bathrooms with walk-in showers and Amtico floors. Each apartment has two secure cycle park spaces.

Apartments range in size from 39 sq m (419 sq ft) for a studio to 98 sq m (1,054 sq ft) for a three-bedroom apartment.

In addition to being part of the city’s new vibrant location of The Forum, Whitefriars apartments are situated next to the city’s new, world-class outdoor event space, Kings Square with its elegant fountains and artistic lighting.

Iain Powis, head of the new homes team in Cheltenham at Savills, comments: “Whitefriars is not only incredibly well-located in the heart of the city, but its homes will also provide well-proportioned, flexible living accommodation, with contemporary interiors and high-quality finishes. As part of The Forum, the scheme brings something genuinely new and exciting to Gloucester and we expect it to attract considerable interest from professionals and investors alike.”

Katy Reynolds, sales manager in the central residential development/new homes team at Knight Frank, comments: “As well as being in the heart of the city’s newest and most exciting location, Whitefriars residents can readily access Gloucester’s beautiful surrounding countryside, including the Cotswolds while the Forest of Dean is close by. These apartments are a unique offering in Gloucester, and we are expecting keen buyer interest.”
