Two men attempted to rob a vulnerable man at knifepoint in Gloucester on Sunday.

A 29-year-old man was crossing Painswick Road at the traffic lights when he was approached by two men.

One of the men was white, around six foot two, of a muscular, skinny build and in his twenties. He had blonde hair and was wearing jeans and a blue Adidas short sleeved shirt.

The other was black, around five foot eight, of a medium build, also in his twenties. He was wearing a dark balaclava over his face, black tracksuit bottoms and a black hoodie. They were both riding mountain bikes, one of which was black and red.

The two men verbally abused the victim before one pulled out what is described as a Swiss army knife and threatened him. They went onto demand money from the victim.

They were disturbed by a passing member of the public and made off from the scene empty handed in the direction of Saintbridge. Although the victim was not physically harmed, the ordeal has left him very upset and distressed.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened between 7pm and 7.30pm.

To provide information, call police on 101 quoting incident 93 of 15 August.
