The Believe in Gloucester Awards has seen over 200 applications since nominations opened on February 1st, and as a result the team are extending the deadline for entries and nominations until Friday 14th June 2024.

The awards are being re-launched by a team of businesses throughout the city, headed up by Gloucester BID, with the aim of celebrating the city’s retailers, businesses, charities and community projects.

There are 15 categories available. Some original awards are making a comeback, such as Ambassador of the Year, Best Bar or Pub and Food Business of the Year, while there are also some new awards up for grabs that focus on sustainability and hair & beauty retailers

Anyone wishing to nominate a retailer, business, charity or event for the 2024 awards can do so by completing the short entry form at: www.gloucesterbid.uk/believe-in-gloucester.

In August and September, the public will have the opportunity to vote for who they would like to see win each of the awards, with the awards ceremony set to take place at Gloucester Guildhall on Wednesday 20th November.

Emily Gibbon, Gloucester BID manager, said: “The Believe in Gloucester Awards are completely free to enter and, for anyone thinking of nominating themselves or someone they know, I say go for it. These awards are all about championing amazing local businesses, charities, community projects and dedicated individuals who all collectively make a difference to our city. We’re already seeing tremendous support from those within Gloucester for the relaunch of the awards and we wanted to extend the deadline on entries, even though we’ve already had a few hundred nominations, just to ensure everyone has the opportunity to enter.”
