Blue Monday: Samaritans on hand at railway stations in Gloucestershire by Admin | Gloucester News Centre - http://gloucesternewscentre.co.uk/The third Monday in January is sometimes referred to as ‘the most difficult day of the year’ but this is a myth.
Charity Samaritans say there is no such thing as ‘Blue Monday’ – we all have our good days and our bad days and those aren’t for the calendar to decide.
On 15th January 2024 , Cheltenham and District Samaritans and Gloucester and District Samaritans will be at all our local railway stations giving out tea bags to the railway customers to enjoy at their destinations.
Volunteers will be on the platforms at Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester, Stroud, Stonehouse and Kemble from early morning until midday on Monday 15th January.
Samaritans work closely with Network Rail and the local train operating companies to raise the profile of our Samaritans service and to work with our railway partners to minimise risk of injuries on the railways.
Samaritans volunteers are available 24 hours a day to provide confidential emotional support to anyone who may be experiencing feelings of distress or despair; including
those that may lead to suicide. Every 10 seconds, Samaritans responds to a call for help. Cheltenham and Gloucester branches of Samaritans are run by well trained volunteers who answer calls 24/7.Gloucester News Centre – http://gloucesternewscentre.co.uk
