Coming soon to the Hucclecote bypass: less waiting, smoother driving and zero potholes.

The county council’s latest investment means that a major road from Hucclecote to Gloucester will be resurfaced, easing daily journeys and commutes.

On 3rd April the team will begin work to refresh the old road surface with 2,600 tonnes of new asphalt: twenty times as heavy as a blue whale. To make sure the resurfacing is completed as quickly as possible, it is necessary for the work area to be closed for a 10 day period, ending on 13th April.

A diversion route will be signposted via the A417, B4641, and Delta Way.

Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flood said: “This stretch of the Hucclecote Bypass is important to many residents, and we are taking action as the road surface reaches the end of its useful life.

“This latest round of resurfacing highlights our commitment to keeping our county moving.”

Cllr Robert Vines, county councillor for Brockworth said: “This is a vital route for residents and people commuting into the Gloucester Business Park, so it’s crucial that the county council invests in the road surface.”
