Business in Focus with Ruth Green from Accessorize Gloucester
Following their most recent refurbishment, we met up with renowned high street brand Accessorize to discover more about their offering, refit and footprint in the city.
Accessorize have been offering a broad range of clothing and accessories to women and children for over 20 years. Their in-trend products appeal to all ages from millennials, to the older generation – there’s something for everyone!
The Gloucester store has recently been refurbished, brightening up the interior with a fresh lick of paint, brand new equipment and new fixtures making it more accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
“The instore changes have already been very well received. We’ve since seen a great increase in footfall, especially from pushchair users. By opening up more floorspace it’s created a much more welcoming environment – vastly improving the overall customer experience.” Ruth Green, Manager.
The high-street brand has become increasingly popular across the city. The influx of student accommodation in the centre and Gloucester’s love for a bargain makes it the perfect home for Accessorize.
They’re known for their BOOMING mid-season sales. Looking at Gloucester trends, their best-sellers are bags – so make sure you get in there fast if you’re looking for a fancy new accessory to add to the collection.
With high-street retailers being up against the online marketplace, we asked Ruth her views on ‘the death of the high-street’,
“I still believe the high-streets are very much alive – there’s no competition in the customer experience you can offer in-store. Interacting with your audience is key and creates return custom.”
From speaking with Ruth, we can see that Gloucester has been a great location for the store. She herself is a homegrown local and enjoy what the city has to offer,
“I love the historic value to Gloucester, there’s so many hidden gems and beauty across the city! The buildings, architecture it’s wonderful”.
