Romantic, funny and thought provoking. Chloë of the Midnight Storytellers is a stand-up story cabaret entertainer with a sparkling line in unscripted verbal jazz. Her unconventional set includes a medieval UFO and startling secrets of the Apollo 11 moon landing, plus modern folklore of Cotswold garden envy and magic that tries to save a marriage. Chloë of the Midnight Storytellers grew up on Tolkien, Andre Norton and Asimov plus world and British folklore. Now comforted by Pratchett/Discworld. She learned stagecraft at London’s Central School of Speech & Drama but was too unfashionable to make a career in theatre. After 17 years as a copywriter, editor and international presenter, she retrained and became a full time spoken word performer in 1999. She’s worked everywhere from castles to cruise ships. Since Lockdowns and cancer, Chloë appeared at Cheltenham Literature Festival 2021 as well as Fantasy Forest Festival and the first Dark Faery Festival. Her work is rooted in traditional story and informed by years of travel. Her passion — her mission! — is to reach new audiences with this marginalised art form: to boldly take performance storytelling where it’s never gone before.
