Highlights for the Month
- 1st– Called to investigate two males acting very strangely around the city, spoke with them and found no issues to worry about.
- Visited all city safe and BID areas throughout the day, checked on the security of closed stores, one large window broken during the early hours, this was reported, and store owner contacted to sort out.
- 2nd– Called to assist with a young lady, she was having problems which required police action, she was referred and taken to the correct agencies to help her.
- Several shoplifting cases dealt with during the day, most were deterred from leaving without stealing goods, some goods were retrieved outside of the store. All details are on DISC.
- A male who had a civil injunction was reported for constantly breaking his ban by being in the city area. Police informed.
- 3rd– Two cases of assisting people in distress, welfare issues, administered basic first aid and guided to correct agencies. Both were ok, and no further issues.
- Two cases of shoplifting dealt with; all details added to DISC.
- 4th– Attended a Council meeting to discuss new lockdown regulations and restrictions.
- Assisted in removing three males causing a nuisance in the Eastgate shopping centre.
- Removed some street beggars from a public place on Eastgate street.
- 5th– Two teams on, one covering the City Safe and BID areas, the other covering the Barton and Tredworth areas.
- Assisted the police with road closures due to an incident on the bridge link between the car parks.
- Called to deal with several shoplifting offences, all goods retrieved, and details have been added.
- Barton team assisted stores putting social distancing floor stickers out and explaining the rules and restrictions to local people.
- 6th– A male causing disruption in the transport hub was removed and spoken to about his behaviour.
- Several cases of shop lifting dealt with by the PCSOs and CPOs. Two were later arrested and charged.
- 7th– Attended two city safe stores to identify shoplifters, in this case it was the same person, both incidents were then reported via 101 to the police.
- Statements written for police, ongoing investigations that a member of the CPO team were involved in.
- Called to attend a city safe store who had a shoplifter in store. This person was the same individual who had been identified earlier. She was detained and the police were called, she was arrested for all incidents.
- 8th– Called to an incident where a female had fallen asleep in a doorway, this required police and other agencies to assist due to circumstances.
- Called to remove an individual from a city safe store as this person has a ban still in place. Incident added to DISC.
- Reported an individual who had a live CBO for being in the city.
- 9th– Removed a group of street drinkers from a public space, reminded them of the Covid rules, they left the area.
- A male was reported for shoplifting from a city safe store, this male was missed but monitored until he went into a building on the out skirts of the city. All details added to DISC.
- An individual reported for a breach of her CBO ban, by being within the city.
- 10th– Two teams on today, one patrolling the Barton and Tredworth areas and the other with in the City Safe and Bid areas.
- The Barton team went around all the open stores and helped lay social distancing floor signs to indicate keeping a safe 2 metre distance.
- A male street drinker reported for abusing and harassing the CPOs and a member of the public. Police informed.
- 11th– Three persons reported for breaching their CBO injunctions by being in the city whilst banned.
- A shoplifter who had managed to elude being caught was given a yellow card and added to DISC.
- First aid incident assisted a young mum with a two-year-old boy with a head injury. Managed to calm both down and treat the boy. Small cut on the head. He had knocked a bike over, which fell and hit him.
- 12th– Two patrols out today, one in the Barton area and the other in the city safe and BID area.
- All open stores checked for Covid 19 compliance, no issues, advice, and equipment were given out when required.
- Requested by CCTV to speak with the Transport Hub management ref an incident the night before.
- Removed a group of teenagers causing trouble in the Cathedral grounds, they were reminded of the Covid rules regarding lockdown, group sizes and masks.
- 13th– Called to intervene in an argument between two males, this was broken up and they went separate ways.
- Assisted a homeless person on their arrival in the city. All relevant agencies were called to assist this person.
- Street beggars were removed as they were becoming aggressive in their approach with members of the public.
- 14th– Two patrols out today, the Barton and Tredworth will be assisting in the testing station at the friendship café and patrolling the area. City safe team are patrolling the city and BID area.
- All open stores in the Barton and Tredworth areas had a visit from the CPOs, spoke with store owners and assisted with any problems relating to Covid 19 restrictions.
- The city team assisted with a shoplifter, retrieved all stolen stock and all details added to DISC.
- Reported several individuals for breach of CBO by being in the city.
- 15th– A well-known and prolific shoplifter caught with bags full of items from several stores, the police are called and take over this incident. All details added to DISC.
- Street drinkers removed from a public area as too many in one group and causing a nuisance, they are reminded of Covid 19 restrictions once again. 20 minutes trying to call 101.
- 16th– Assisted a homeless individual with first aid, which required further treatment, so an ambulance was called.
- Located and reported several individuals who have CBOs and Civil injunctions not to be in the City centre.
- Two well-known shoplifter monitored and deterred from stores throughout the day.
- 17th Statements given to police for various incidents the CPOs were involved with.
- Street beggars moved on as they were becoming more persistent and aggressive in their manner.
- 18th– Gave CCTV Information on a location frequented by a wanted individual.
- Called to attend the post office as they were getting some abuse from people who were refusing to wear a mask. Advice given and phone numbers to ring if re-occurrence of this situation.
- Several cases of shoplifting dealt with, goods retrieved, and all details added to DISC.
- 19th– Two well- known shoplifters arrested by police for carrying out a sustained shoplifting spree covering almost two weeks.
- Removed known shoplifters from several city safe stores, all entered onto DISC.
- The Barton and Tredworth team are also working, they revisited the open stores in the area, engaged with the public on Covid 19 issues.
- 20th Distributing letters to all open stores on behalf of the Council.
- A missing person was located by the CPO team, police informed, and the individual was taken home by the police.
- Several known shoplifters removed and deterred from entering City safe stores, any breaches were added to DISC.
- Known individual that has current conditions not to enter the City, sighted by CPO team and breach reported.
- 21st- Located reported missing female after being made aware, female spoken to by CPO Team until officers arrives to check on welfare.
- Known female offender that is currently serving Criminal Behaviour Order spotted by CPO Team, breach reported also crimed via 101.
- Advice given to known male that commits acts of aggressive begging, male advised to leave that City.
- 22nd – Barton Team checking all shops making sure they remain compliant, also social distancing.
- Known female with CBO again sighted and her breach reported.
- Two known offenders removed from a City Safe business.
- Known male spoken to after reports of him begging, male advised to leave the City.
- 23rd – Known female offender removed from City Safe member’s store.
- Known male offender removed from store.
- Known male & female passed over to Police CCTV as the female is known to be a regular missing person.
- 24th – Known male who has a current Civil Injunction in place, which excludes him from the City Centre spotted and in breach of order, report submitted.
- CPO Team made aware of vulnerable female heading towards the City Centre and to make sure stores are aware of her if she enters due to her safety and welfare.
- Known male offender passed over to CCTV.
- 25th – Known Offender that has breached CBO on numerous occasions is arrested by officers.
- Known male who is known to CPO team is seen not in a good place mentally, male was not only aggressive towards public but towards CPO team. Due to the severity of his behaviour and issues the male was later arrested.
- Known male with Injunction sighted by PCSO Team, was made aware and to log any further breaches.
- 26th – Barton Team conducting patrols of the area and welfare checks with stores that are currently open.
- Assist City Safe member stopping two known females that had committed theft in store, both individuals dealt with in store and both issued store bans and Yellow Carded.
- 27th – Known male spotted entering store, male was acting suspiciously in store and then is removed from store.
- Report from the Train Station of a male jumping the barrier, refusing to stop and pay for his travel, male is spotted by CPO Team and male is monitored. He was later stopped by officers.
- Known female with Civil Injunction spotted in city breaching, CCTV and reports completed.
- 28th – CPO team carry out welfare visits to stores and assisting public with questions and queries.
- 29th – Barton Team conducted patrols and community engagement.
- Both Teams assisting Police trying to locate missing male, male was later found safe and well.
- 30th – Known male spotted, concerns for welfare raised and signposted toward help. Male is then assisted and helped with warm refreshments and food.
- Known male with Civil Injunction spotted and spoken to, advised to leave city centre.
- Known male offender spotted acting suspiciously, male is stopped and admits to theft from City Safe members – All items retrieved and returned to store.
- 31st – Visit City Safe Members Store to review CCTV to help identify offender.
- Police CCTV alert CPO Team to look out for missing 16-year-old female that had left GRH and concerns for welfare raised, all known locations and areas checked.
- Known male offender seen around the City on numerous occasions, Police CCTV made aware.
- Known female that is normally reported as concern for welfare / missing, located and CPO Team remained with female until officers’ attends.
