Highlights for the Month

  • 1stAttended a first aid incident and supported a female who was having breathing difficulties and dizzy spells, ambulance called. CPOs stayed and handed the lady over to the paramedics.
  • Several incidents of removing individuals who have city bans, reports have gone onto DISC and police informed.
  • Called to identify two shoplifters who had managed to get away with some stock. Positive ID carried out and all details put onto DISC.
  • 2ndAttended the launch of the new COVID-19 patrols throughout the city and neighbouring communities and continuation training on Covid regulations.
  • Monitored known offenders around the city deterring them from city safe stores.
  • 3rdFirst Barton and Tredworth COVID-19 patrols, visiting all stores on Barton Street helping and providing guidance on matters relating to the new lockdown, as well as the normal city safe duties.
  • Assisted the police with locating and the arrest of a missing lady who was also wanted.
  • 4th– Attended the student campus and spoke with some of them regarding the Lockdown and Covid related regulations, also gave out equipment and signage for the students to use.
  • Called to attend the train station as there was an incident of a female being bullied by another group of teenagers, separated the groups, and calmed the incident until the police arrived and took over.
  • 5th Attended a meeting to cover all business regulations and amendments, then patrolled around the city and Quays to talk with store managers and
  • Called to speak with a large group of street drinkers who were causing a noise nuisance, also managed to get one of them a meeting with P3 ref accommodation. The rest were moved on.
  • 6th Two teams on today, the Barton and Tredworth team covered the High street and areas and shops in Tredworth, helping and advice where required.
  • The City Safe team in the city continued to carry out normal duties along with supporting Police attendance.
  • Shoplifter stopped and all goods retrieved, offender removed from the store. All details added to DISC.
  • Assisted security staff breaking up a fight between two males. Police arrived and took over the incident.
  • 7th Incident of shoplifting, the person got away with goods however was identified. All details have been added to DISC.
  • Engaged with several stores regarding COVID-19 and regulations, advice offered and some forms of equipment to assist them.
  • Investigated a complaint made by a member of the public about a large group of people on the carpark roof looking over the parapet.
  • 8th Spoke to and advised a large group of teenagers who were causing issues around the town.
  • Well known shoplifter stole from a city store, the incident was reported to the police and female was added to DISC for a breach of a CBO, which bans her from being in the city.
  • 9th Called to investigate damaged caused in a public toilet, descriptions given and a name of one of the culprits in the group were identified. All information has been passed to the police.
  • Assisted two city safe stores with shop lifter, all goods returned to owners and all details added to DISC.
  • 10th Called to assist with an issue with a female who was creating a scene, the lady was known to have mental health and needed help. Finally managed to get her safely in a taxi home following a call to the crisis team.
  • Broke up a very large group of females in town were reminded about COVID-19 rules and advised to split up, no further issues.
  • Spoke with and moved on groups of street drinkers from public areas around the town.
  • 11th Called to a disturbance at one of the cafes in the city, a lady was causing some issues, on arrival the lady was known and has health issues. After speaking to her we got her to where she needed to go and made sure she got home safely.
  • Called to a store where a female had a repair carried out to a mobile phone, however had snatched it back before paying and ran off. This individual has been identified and the police
  • 12th Called to assist a city safe store who has stopped a female shop lifter. This person had items from several other stores. She was added to DISC and all items returned to correct stores.
  • Assisted the police with a cordon due to a person on a car park roof, police in control of the incident.
  • 13th– COVID-19 patrol out to Plock court in Kingsholm area due to complaints from locals, police in attendance, spoke to locals using the area, but did not see large groups or any other infringements of the guidance.
  • Removed a couple of males sleeping in a fire exit doorway, explained about the door being used as an emergency exit, no further issues.
  • Removed and reminded an individual about her CBO, added for a breach of the CBO onto DISC.
  • Police gave out a warning to a beauty salon for opening and working during lockdown.
  • 14th A male arrested for continuing to breach his CBO, this male has been warned by CPOs several times.
  • Called to a city safe store due to a lone female being harassed by a male, on the second occasion a male was removed by police.
  • A store in the Barton area was given a COVID-19 yellow card as they a repeatably breaking all the rules and not complying with COVID-19 rules.
  • 15th A female was removed from the town area due to having breached her CBO, all details added to DISC.
  • Reported a large amount of rubbish which has been dumped outside of flats on Westgate street.
  • 16th Called to remove a shoplifter from a major city safe store details added to DISC.
  • Called to attend a city safe store as they had a large group of people inside who have been known to shoplift. All left the store upon the arrival of CPOs.
  • Removed and spoke to a male who has a CBO, explained again his rules and area not to enter. All details added to DISC.
  • 17th CPO team attended a meeting at North Warehouse for a meeting for COVID-19 revision.
  • Shoplifter was caught and all items retrieved, due to having a CBO she was passed onto police.
  • 18th Located and assisted in the arrest of a male who has been constantly breaching his CBO order.
  • 19th Assisted a male who seemed to be in distress, on speaking with the male he was having problems with a person ringing his girlfriend and making threats, a police officer joined the group and explained what process he needed to go though.
  • A prolific shoplifter caught twice stealing from city safe stores, all goods retrieved and returned, Police CCTV informed. All details added to DISC.
  • 20th Two teams are in today, one covering the BID area and the other the Barton and Tredworth areas.
  • Carried out checks on the railway tunnel guard, no issues however lots of positive feedback from nursing staff to say they feel safer when the guard is there.
  • Called to identify a female shoplifter, the person in question is unknown but added to DISC as ID sought.
  • A welfare check carried out on a vulnerable person, a call to this person’s doctor was carried out to arrange a visit for them.
  • All stores that had COVID-19 complaints received checked and no further issues.
  • 21st Reported a male on the old BHS roof, Police and CCTV informed. Police attended and managed to talk the person down very quickly.
  • Called to assist with a first aid incident, helped the person who was having a fit, finally calmed her down enough for her to get a taxi home.
  • Two cases of shoplifting, both sorted out by the store security, CPOs called to confirm identity of the individuals.
  • 22nd A well-known shoplifter seen taking items from a city safe store, this person was seen to enter another store to sell the goods on. Police on site caught both parties in the act. Police took over this incident.
  • Large groups of street drinkers spoken to and reminded of COVID-19 restrictions and removed from a public place.
  • 23rd Called to assist two young females who were being harassed instore by a male that was being inappropriate. 101 was called and all details taken. The Male was spotted, CCTV informed. Police picked him up.
  • Two welfare incidents dealt with, a male who was having problems walking, he had hospital dress on under a coat, police checked him out and took him home. The other was a confused elderly male who needed to be taken back to the care home he had gone missing from.
  • Assisted police with the detention and arrest of a female who had been breaching her CBO daily.
  • 24th Three female shoplifters detained stealing jewellery from a city safe store, all details have been added to DISC.
  • Two teams in today, one covering the city BID areas and the other covering Kingsholm, Barton and Tredworth areas.
  • The Barton team visited many shops in the area offering advice and equipment to ensure they had a good start with Covid compliance. Most were already in good position to start with.
  • 25th Assisted an elderly lady who had slipped over in the rain, managed to get her sorted out and back to her car, we stayed with her until she had calmed down and was well enough to drive home.
  • Provided statements for the police for an ongoing investigation.
  • Assisted the police with stopping two young shoplifters, the carer of one was called and the other one was taken home.
  • 26th Removed two drinkers from the Transport Hub as they were causing issues with the staff and passengers.
  • Warned of a high risk missing male, checked all areas for this individual.
  • Several incidents of shoplifting dealt with, yellow cards issued, and details added to DISC.
  • 27th Attended the Transport Hub, handed out masks and hand sanitizer to several people and encouraged several teenagers to wear a mask.
  • Spoke to an individual about shouting and being abusive towards people, he is banned from the City, however, was with an official who was helping him.
  • 28th Called to assist and check out a building that the intruder alarm had activated. Checked premises, all in order.
  • Two teams on today, one in the BID area and one in the Kingsholm, Barton and Tredworth area, concentrating on Covid issues.
  • 29th Removed some teenage males who were causing issues with riding scooters and harassing the public.
  • Spoke to several family groups, all over the allowed number of adults allowed to congregate, no further issues after advice given and complied with direction to split up.
  • 30th Assisted the council with putting signs out ref COVID-19 information ready for the re-opening of the City.
  • Provided welfare assistance and support to one of the homeless females in the City.
