Highlights for the Month
- 1st– Attended a motorist who was parked on Southgate Street after the loading times, a casual request to move turned into a major abuse and swearing session by the male driver. Registration make of car handed in to the police.
- Called to speak with a large group of street drinkers causing issues, after explaining and speaking to them they dispersed without any further problems.
- 2nd– Removed street beggars from the gate streets, all information on DISC.
- Recorded a case of fly tipping to the correct authorities.
- Monitored known offenders around the city, deterring them from city safe stores.
- 3rd– Engaged and removed street beggars from the gate streets throughout the day. All incidents to be added to DISC.
- Known offender removed from a city safe store due to conditions, monitored this person around town.
- 4th– High risk missing person reported to be in the city, checked all known areas, this individual was found by CCTV a while later.
- Spoke to and advised a group of young males gathering to leave town, which they did.
- An aggressive female beggar was removed from the Southgate area, advised to leave to the accomodation she was staying at.
- 5th– Monitored a known offender around the city, this person has a CBO but needed to use the post office. Still entered as a breach of conditions.
- Called to assist with the removal of a male who was becoming aggressive with the store staff, when spoken to and calmed down it turned out he needed help, the relevant agencies were contacted for him.
- 6th– Called to assist with a male who was urinating in public and was becoming very aggressive. Police called and they dealt with this incident by way of a caution.
- Removed drunk street drinkers from various locations throughout the day.
- 7th– passed on and monitored known offenders who were in the city.
- Assisted in a first aid incident where a male fainted.
- Called to assist with a shoplifter from two city safe stores, however this female had left before the CPOs had arrived. All details will be added to Disc.
- 8th– Called to three cases of shoplifting during the day, all details were added to the DISC system, and reported to the police. One case was referred as a welfare issue and police were able to facilitate this person the help he required.
- Assisted with a first aid incident, and an ambulance was called as the female required paramedic assistance. She was taken to A&E.
- 9th– Removed a male who decided to pitch a tent outside of a city safe store, very argumentative but did move on.
- Monitored known shoplifters around the city, passed all details to police CCTV.
- Spoke to and advised a shop worker who was being harassed by a shoplifter she had removed from the store previously. Police informed.
- 10th– Removed several people sleeping in doorways and offering advised and partner agency information to them.
- Monitoring known shoplifters around the city, deterring them from entering city safe stores.
- Reported a drug using area to the council, the area had used drug paraphernalia scattered around it and this area is used by the public.
- 11th– Attended an incident to remove a person with a tent pitched in the centre of the city. This person became very violent and police were called. This person was then arrested by the police.
- Moved on groups of drunk street drinkers from city public areas
- 12th– Called to identify shoplifters from store CCTV, all information added to DISC and given to the police.
- Passed on several complaints from residents from different areas regarding the noise and mess left by large groups of street drinkers. All information had been passed to correct agencies and the Police.
- 13th– Called to two different city safe stores to identify a shoplifter, turned out they were the same individual. Information was added to the DISC system.
- Called to assist with a shoplifter who had taken items and managed to leave the store, she was located, and the items were returned to the store. All details added to DISC.
- Called to assist with another shoplifter, goods returned to stores as this person had stolen from several stores before being caught.
- 14th– Called to identify a shoplifter, positive identification made, and all details added to DISC and information passed to the police.
- Removal of groups of drunk street people in public areas, no further issues when asked to move.
- Monitored known offenders around the city, deterred them from entering city safe stores.
- 15th– Informed of a missing high-risk individual, checked all local areas, and this person was located and spoken to by police.
- Called to several stores due to shop thefts, identification made, and all details added to DISC.
- CPOs had an informal talk with MP Richard Graham who was interested to know how things were going in Gloucester during the lockdown and with the minor changes that have been made.
- 16th– Informed of a wanted person in relation to shoplifting around the city.
- Speaking to and moving on large groups of street drinkers, welfare checks and advice given where appropriate.
- 17th managed to track down and assist in the apprehension of a wanted person, co-ordinated teamwork between the CPOs and police resulted in this person’s arrest.
- Reported and monitored known offenders around the city.
- 18th– Called to assist the police with cordons due to incidents that required road closures.
- Called to assist a city safe store with a shoplifter, goods returned, and all details added to DISC.
- 19th–. Removed several street drinkers from outside of the New County Hotel, advised all of them about the PSPO and drinking in public.
- Removed a different group of drinkers from St Mary Decrypt graveyard.
- Monitored known offenders around the city.
- 20th– Removed a persistent aggressive beggar from the transport Hub area. Reported him to police.
- Involved with a first aid issue a 68-year-old lady having chest pains, refused an ambulance so the Street Medics were called, ambulance was called, and the lady taken to A&E.
- Involved in an issue with a male swearing at police and CPOs regarding Covid-19. He would not stop swearing in the middle of the city with young children around so was then arrested.
- 21st– Removed a large group of street drinkers from the graveyard on Southgate street, although one was reported to housing officers as they were looking for him.
- Two individuals were reminded of their city bans and that they were being reported as a breach. Both moved back out of town.
- Called to street drinkers who had taken each other’s drinks, Police were going past at the time and facilitated getting the drinks back, although several threats were made which led to one of the males being arrested.
- 22nd on checking several homeless sleeping places several reports were made about the mess and drug taking paraphernalia which had been left behind. All areas were cleared the same day.
- Reported and monitored several known offenders who were in the city area.
- 23rd Attended a city safe store after a male tried to steal by not paying for all the goods at a self-serve till, he then made threats to staff and left. Advised the store manager to crime it on DISC or 101.
- Many known offenders reported and monitored in the city.
- 24th attended an assault victim and issued first aid after a call from CCTV, police turned up and the incident was handed over to them
- 25th A known shoplifter was seen in a city safe store and removed by the store manager; this individual is also on a CBO so was reported. This person was arrested for that breach 30 minutes later by police.
- Called to attend a shoplifting offence but the person had left the store before CPOs arrival. Added incident to DISC.
- 26th Welfare issue with an individual who was trying to gain access to high scaffolding, this person had been removed from this area a few days earlier.
- Assisted the police in locating an individual who had been using a stolen bank card to purchase goods.
- 27th Called to assist and identify a shoplifter, all details added to DISC and passed to police.
- Called several times to remove a known person who was being very anti-social to staff, he is excluded from City safe stores but wanted to browse the stores. Police informed and details added to DISC.
- An individual who has repeatedly breached his CBO was arrested when he was caught stealing in a city safe store.
- 28th Several individuals reported for breaching CBOs by being in the city area whilst banned, these people were all spoken to and reminded of their restrictions and asked to leave the area. Details added to DISC.
- Called to attend a city safe store to assist with a shoplifter who had ran out, still in possession of a bottle of Alcohol, a male who was known being covered by a female who is unknown. Both added to DISC.
- Called to assist with a female shoplifter who was kicking off in store, situation controlled all goods returned and she paid for items damaged. Yellow carded and all details added to DISC.
- 29th Called by CCTV to look for a known offender who was wanted by police. This male picked up by police later in the day.
- Reported areas by Station road that have been used by drinkers and drug users, who have lots of rubbish and drug paraphernalia scattered in the bushes. Environmental agencies have been informed.
- Welfare concerns raised due to a vulnerable lady mixing with the street drinkers, CCTV informed and monitored the area.
- 30th First aid assistance given to a male who had fallen over, required cleaning up and then taken home.
- Shoplifter description given out over the radio, monitored until he left the city.
- 31st Removed street sleepers from the bushes in Station road, advised on who to speak to reference housing and handed signposting card.
- Monitored known offenders around the city, deterred from entering City safe stores.
