Officers investigating a serious sexual assault in Painswick have released an e-fit of the suspect

The incident happened at about 6.40am on Saturday 25 June.

An 18-year-old woman from Tewkesbury was dropped off in a taxi in the town and walked into St Mary’s Parish churchyard, where she was attacked by a man described as white, with tanned skin, in his early 50s, 5ft 10ins – 5ft 11ins tall, ‘skinny but with a big belly’ and wearing blue jeans and a red and white striped t-shirt.

Detective Inspector Dave Shore-Nye said: “This was a very traumatic incident for the victim and we are eager to trace the man responsible.

“We hope issuing the e-fit of the suspect will prompt a witness to come forward or jog somebody’s memory of what and who they saw early that morning.

“If you recognise the man in the e-fit or have further information which can help us, please call 101 and quote incident 281 of 25 June.”
