Leaders are suggesting that organisations invest unused end of the tax year budgets in local gift cards for rewards, support and incentives. The Gloucester Gift Card can be spent in over 170 local businesses.
As the end of the tax year approaches, organisations are being asked to consider investing unused budgets into local gift cards to boost the local economy.
Employee rewards, service user support or customer incentives are some of the suggestions of the ways in which firms can use the Gloucester Gift Card.
More than 1,100 Gloucester Gift Cards, with a combined worth over £50,700, have been purchased in the last 12 months, with the cards increasingly used by local firms such as Quayside Wealth Management and The House of the Tailor of Gloucester to reward and incentivise employees, customers, clients, volunteers and more. Cards can be spent in over 170 local businesses, including big brands and independent businesses across the city centre.
Technology introduced in the latter part of 2024 allows organisations to distribute digital e-card Gloucester Gift Cards to people online. Physical Gloucester Gift Cards are also available.
Claire Knight, Marketing & Business Engagement Lead from Gloucester Business Improvement District (BID) says, “We’re calling on organisations to put unused budgets into their local gift card. Every Gloucester Gift Card purchased is an investment in our local economy, because it has to be spent right here. What’s more, right now there are zero e-card fees for organisations to gift digital Town & City Gift Cards to their team – saving 99p per card. By investing unused end of tax year budgets into our local gift card, whether for employee rewards, service user support or customer or client incentives, organisations can be assured recipients will get unbeatable local choice in an easy to spend gift card.”
The Gloucester Gift Card is part of the award-winning Town & City Gift Card concept from Miconex, active across the UK.
Colin Munro is the Managing Director of Miconex and said: “Over the past few years, we’ve seen huge innovation in how organisations use Town & City Gift Cards, from long service awards to celebrating company milestones, supporting families with dignity and choice to customer incentives. I encourage all organisations to consider the ways that unused budgets can be put to good use supporting your people, and your community, with the Gloucester Gift Card.”
