In June Gloucester Civic Trust received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £228,000 for an exciting heritage project called Rebirth of The Folk: Resilient and Sustainable in Gloucester. This grant has allowed the Trust to create three new roles, one being a CEO.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Louise Williams as our new CEO. The role has been made possible through a three-year Heritage Fund grant to help The Folk become resilient and sustainable. Louise has been working in the charitable sector in Gloucestershire for the last twenty years and recently acquired her MBA through the University of Gloucestershire and Quolux leadership programme. Louise brings experience, knowledge and skills to help The Gloucester Civic Trust secure the future of The Folk for generations to come. Once the Folk Museum, now a Community Heritage Centre, our focus is on delivering engaging and immersive events, activities, music and story telling, ensuring we are a ‘go to’ heritage and folk inspired venue for the people of Gloucester.
Louise Williams, the new CEO said: “I am so pleased to be joining the incredible team at The Folk, and look forward to what the future holds. Watch this space!”
Two other roles are also being created, an Event Duty Manager and a Marketing and Communication Co-ordinator, more information can be found here: Gloucester Civic Trust Ltd Jobs in Gloucestershire (glosjobs.co.uk)
Supported through The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the grant will also provide additional volunteer and staff training that will enable The Folk of Gloucester to be a thriving community heritage centre embedded in the historical Cathedral Quarter. Alongside this the grant will enable the trust to upgrade the CCTV and install a new IT system that will streamline the efficiency of the venue, that many people volunteer at, hire and visit.
