Gloucester web firm aims to be in and working from The Forum by Christmas

The first company to move into Gloucester’s The Forum are hoping to move all their staff into the £107m state of the art building by Christmas.

Fasthosts was founded in the city in 1998, before achieving international success and being acquired by German-based IONOS in 2006.

The internet hoster specialties in email, web, domain registration and server hosting. They host more than a million websites across the UK.

And are moving into The Forum which is a mixed-use development brought forward by Gloucester City Council in partnership with Reef Group which is at the heart of the city centre’s regeneration.

The landmark new building will provide premium office space, retail space, restaurants, a Hotel Indigo (IHG Hotels) and a rooftop bar when it opens later in 2024.

Fasthosts CEO Rupert Bedell said Fasthosts has been based in two separate buildings in Southgate Street for 25 years and has outgrown its current building.

The move is a chance to bring all their employees together under one roof and it provides a state of the art environment for them.

“So number one, it’s a chance to bring everybody together under one roof. It will be the first time all the fast hosts and IONOS, our parent company, will sit together,” he said.

“But number two, we need it. We were looking for a state of the art environment for our staff, for our HQ. And this ticks all the boxes.

“It’s still in Gloucester. It’s going to work for people locally. And it’s a complete transformation from where we are today.

“It’s bigger, brighter, modern, and has everything we need.”

The target date to move in is around December 10 and then they will have a phased move in. “Fingers crossed we should all be in by Christmas,” Mr Bedell added.
