This Friday, Gloucester Farmers’ Market will be welcoming two additional stalls on to Westgate Street, in the Cathedral Quarter.
Gloucester Business Improvement District (BID) in partnership with Fresh n Local, the managers of Gloucester Farmers’ Market, are bringing new artists, makers and producers to the historic market at the cross.
Gloucester BID are giving members of JOLT and Gloucestershire’s Arts and Crafts Centre the opportunity to sell their work at the market on the last Friday of the month. Each month there will be different creatives selling work from locally designed accessories and comics to unique pieces of artwork and basket weaving.
‘It’s been great working with Gerb and Joe at the Farmers’ Market. Being able to get local artists and creatives on to the market, selling and informing the public more about their individual collectives – JOLT in Kings Square and Gloucestershire’s Arts and Crafts Centre on Westgate Street – gives them a new opportunity and brings new faces to the market’ Emily Gibbon, Gloucester BID Manager.
‘Fresh-n-local markets are delighted to welcome the new Arts and Crafts stall to Gloucester farmers’ market for the last Fridays of the month. There is a wealth of talent in Gloucester and to offer them a showcase at the market will be great for them and city centre customers. The farmers market principle of “We make it, We grow it, We sell it”, encourages makers as well as food producers. The stall will add a whole new range to our market offer, broadening our customer horizons and increasing market attendance.’ Kardien Gerbrands, Fresh n Local Manager
This first week we have local maker Luna Lotus, digital artists Big Punch Studios, willow weaver Helen Lomberg and furniture maker Paul Heckford coming to Gloucester Farmers’ Market. Come along and find out more!
