A former BBC editor has been appointed as the High Sheriff of Gloucestershire in a special ceremony.
Mark Hurrell was sworn into the ceremonial role at Gloucester Cathedral on Sunday.
Lord Lieutenant Edward Gillespie OBE, outgoing High Sheriff Henry Robinson, alongside friends and family and other distinguished guests, were in attendance.
The former managing editor of BBC Radio Gloucestershire has lived in Gloucester for more than 30 years.
