The presentation and media training business will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the region, with former ITV Central News South/Thames Valley journalists and presenters working with local businesses and individuals to boost their confidence and honing their messaging when delivering presentations and media interviews.
Hannah Shellswell, Boost’s founder, launched the training and coaching company today in the UK and Channel Islands, announcing her partnership, with a talented team of eight, that includes familiar faces from the region, including Wesley Smith, Enda Brady and Gillian Kelly.
Hannah first met the trio while working at Central News South, with offices in Gloucester, Abingdon and Swindon in the early 2000’s. She is excited to announce their new roles as part of the training team, said: “Having worked closely with Wes, Enda and Gillian for many years presenting and reporting regional news for ITV, I am thrilled to be working together as a team once again. Their extensive experience and unique perspective will greatly enrich our training programmes, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional guidance and support.”
Wesley Smith, a familiar face in Gloucester and Cheltenham, is an accomplished broadcaster and presentation & media training coach who has four decades of experience working in the media industry. He brings a wealth of knowledge in live television and radio and his extensive career spans various roles, including presenter, reporter, scriptwriter and producer.
Wesley commented: “I am really looking forward to working closely with people to empower them maximise their potential and enhance their media presence. As a presentation and media training coach I work closely with high-profile clients, including business leaders, across the UK and Europe. I am looking forward being part of the Boost training team as a coach and consultant. We are dedicated to unlocking the full potential of clients and equipping them with the skills needed to excel on stage, in the boardroom, and on camera.”
Gillian, an accomplished freelance journalist with over 20 years of experience in television news, is highly regarded for her skills as a reporter, producer and media trainer. She worked as the Swindon Reporter for five years for Central News and is now a reporter/producer for Good Morning Britain, Talk TV, and a lecturer at Oxford Brookes University. She commented: “It is fantastic to be working together once again with such a talented team who I had the privilege of working with for many years at Central News South. Since leaving regional news I have specialised in media training, and I lecture at Oxford Brookes teaching TV news, journalism, and digital media production. I bring my knowledge and expertise of the past 20 years to deliver our media training courses, as well as our writing skills sessions too.”
Enda Brady is a distinguished former senior correspondent at Sky News. Enda said: “I am very much looking forward to working as part of the training team at Boost as a coach and media consultant. I support individuals and businesses in various sectors, including aviation, banking, defence, diplomacy, commercial property, and sports. I specialise in enhancing communication strategies supporting Ministers and high-profile individuals in effectively navigating live media interviews. With a unique blend of practical insights and theoretical knowledge, I help clients speak with confidence, adeptly address media inquiries to deliver their messages with impact.”
Hannah concluded: “One of people’s greatest fears is public speaking and it can really hold them back, but when they take time to invest in learning the skill of presenting, it really boosts their confidence, and the results are incredible.
