Repairs will be carried out on St Michael’s Tower in Gloucester following storm damage.

Scaffolding has been erected around the 15th century tower on Gloucester Cross.

Works will include masonry repairs after a series of tiles fell from the tower onto Eastgate Street earlier this year.

The visitor attraction is managed by Gloucester Civic Trust and was once the home of Gloucester’s Tourist Information Centre in the 1990s.

Repairs will take several months but the attraction will remain open for tours and the showing of historical local films.
