Tailor of Gloucester clock to make return to Eastgate Shopping Centre by Marketing | Gloucester News Centre - http://gloucesternewscentre.co.uk/
It was always a highlight when visiting the Eastgate Shopping Centre! The Tailor of Gloucester clock will be making a return next month.
The clock featuring the tailor, Simkin and the mice was dismantled in 2013 after claims it no longer fitted in with the look of the shopping centre.
Jason Robinson, who was Centre Manager at the time said: “As you can understand shopping centre’s go through various redevelopment.
The clock itself has been in situ since 1994 and at the time it fitted in perfectly with how the scheme was. As you can imagine times move on and we thought that its part of the refurbishment of the shopping centre that it was time for perhaps the clock to be relocated and someone else have the benefit of it.”
It was handed over to local charity The Pied Piper Appeal and the characters from the Beatrix Potter story visited various SEN schools around the city.
Now, the charity and Eastgate Shopping Centre are bringing the famous clock as part of an exhibition.
People will able to visit and see the main working parts of the clock up close and personal.
It will be on display during the Easter Holidays on the second floor of the centre.
