It’s time to ‘shine a light on local’ and nominate your favourite local business say Gloucester BID – a £500 Gloucester Gift Card for the business and nominator is up for grabs!
Gloucester BID is encouraging people to vote for their favourite local business in Gloucester as part of a national competition.
Help Us Find The UK’s Favourite Local Business launched on the 1st December and runs through to the 23rd December. Any local business can be nominated, with the business receiving the most votes being crowned as the UK’s favourite.
A number of initiatives to champion local businesses are in place in Gloucester, including the Gloucester Gift Card led by BID, which launched in 2020. Over 75 businesses are part of the initiative, including 30 food and drink businesses, 39 retail shops, 6 leisure businesses and 1 beauty salon.
The business crowned as the UK’s favourite business in December 2022, and the person who nominated them, will receive £500 of gift cards for one of the 80 plus Town & City Gift Card programmes in the UK and Ireland, such as the Gloucester Gift Card.
Toby Woodridge, Acting Business Manager from BID, said the competition is an opportunity for local businesses in Gloucester to be recognised for their efforts.
“There are hundreds of wonderful local businesses in Gloucester. It is our local businesses who are the beating heart of our city and make it a unique place to live and work.
“From shops to salons, garages to greengrocers, this is a chance for people to nominate their favourite business and shine a light on them and our area. It would be brilliant to see a business from Gloucester taking the crown as the UK’s favourite local business.”
“Any local business can be nominated in the search to find the UK’s favourite local business,” adds Toby. “They don’t have to be a part of the Gloucester Gift Card. But we always welcome new businesses to join the programme. It doesn’t cost businesses anything to be a part of the programme, and it’s a route to new revenue and new customers.”
