Wilko will close its stores in Gloucester and Stroud this week.

More than 10,000 jobs are expected to be lost as a result of Wilko’s collapse.

Wilko employed 12,500 workers before its collapse, which came after months of trying to find a buyer. It was founded by James Kemsey Wilkinson in Leicester in 1930.

The Stroud store at Five Valleys Shopping Centre will close on Monday while the Gloucester store in Northgate Street will close on Wednesday.

The Cheltenham store will close on October 5th.
